Back pain

Almost everyone gets back pains at some time. Staying active with the help of osteopathic care may be the best solution.

ARE YOU SITTING WELL?
Poor posture may lead to back pains. If you spend hours every day working at a computer or in front of the TV you may well be damaging your posture. Perhaps your mattress is too hard or soft, perhaps you hunch your shoulders when you get stressed. These are just a few of the situations that can lead to back pains.

“I ONLY BENT OVER TO PICK UP A SHOPPING BAG”
Repeated daily activities like bending lifting and carrying may well lead to back pains. Martin Matthews will be able to treat the underlying condition and give exercises to prevent it happening again. Osteopathy treats not only the pains but the cause of pains.

HAS MY DISC SLIPPED?
Almost certainly not but in the rare cases where this is true Martin will be able to give you an accurate diagnosis and talk you through your options as to how to proceed in the most effective manner.

“I work in an office job 8 hours a day and sitting for so long took its toll on my lower back. I started visiting Martin Matthews and instantly felt the difference. Not only did Martin help with the back pain but also gave me advice on how I could maintain core strength that would aid in my rehabilitation”. Charles W.

Neck pains

Your neck supports the weight and all the movements of your head. This is quite a job as an adult head can be upwards of a stone in weight.  The head also contains the vast majority of nerves that reach from your brain to the rest of your body. With the amount of computer work, driving and TV watching that most of us do it is not surprising that our necks get into trouble and need help.
